Back to the Beginning

So I realized that I never blogged about my experience getting out here. I flew into Oahu a couple days before I left for Midway and luckily I was able to get a spot in the Fish and Wildlife bunkhouse located in downtown Honolulu.

The place was really nice. Since no one really lives there and it is just a boarding house the place is surrounded by a giant barbed wire fence and you use codes to get in.

It was a really nice house, even though it might have been in a kind of sketch neighborhood.

I almost cut my head off about 5 times on that fan

The house was actually only about a 15 min walk from the Waikiki MLCD, which is the exact beach where I did my senior project. Going back was definantly a trip down memory lane!

The morning before we left for Midway all of us in the house went up to visit my old stompin grounds. We got a personal tour of the James Campbell NWR which is located between Laie and Kahuku. It was fun to visit some of the same beaches and we even got to drive through Laie which was a major trip down memory lane.

The best part about the whole trip happened right before I left. I went over to Safeway to get some dinner when I was looking at the fruit juices in the produce section. I looked over and Sayid was about 10 ft away!! I did a double look and made sure it was him and then I immediately called Alicia. She tried to get me to go over and talk to him, but he looked like he was in a hurry and I was too shy so I never went up to him. Anyway I decided not to talk to him and he left the produce section while I was still on the phone with Alicia. After I got off I realized that I should have talked to him so I went almost running through the store to try and find him again. No luck so I gave up and checked out...well look who I ran into again. Anyway long story short I got this stalker paparazzi shot from across the parking lot while walking with the camera under my arm!

P.S. if you want to know Sayid loves the Pierre-the carbonated drinking water

HOLY COW!!!! YOU WEREN'T KIDDING! I had my doubts, but I can totally tell from the picture that it's him! I am so jealous. Although, you really should have talked to him that would have been so cool. When you come back to Oahu for the week you should see about trying to be an extra on the show. You can use your buddy Sayid as a reference! And if they don't believe you mention how you and him hang out all the time and drink his favorite carbonated water!
